If you are applying to universities via the Common App, it is likely you will require at least one Teacher Recommendation letter as part of your application.
These letters are requested via BridgeU by going to Decide on your main menu then select Teacher Recommendations. When you submit a request, your teacher will receive an invitation via email.
Teachers then fill out the relevant Common App form and submit their letter of recommendation for your Advisor/Counselor to submit to the relevant university or college.
For a detailed explanation of how to invite a teacher to write a recommendation, please review the article Teacher Recommendations Overview.
If you are applying to multiple universities and have more than one recommendation letter, it is important to inform your Advisor/Counselor which recommendation should be sent to each university.
To help with this, you can use our Common App Teacher Recommendation assignment template to indicate your preferences and share it with your BridgeU Advisor/Counselor.
This template helps you:
Indicate which teacher’s recommendation should go to which university.
Clearly communicate your preferences to your BridgeU advisor/ counselor.
You can use our provided template or create your own using a format like the example below:
University | Mrs Ahmed - French | Ms Kupfuwa - Maths | Mrs Brown - English |
