From the check-in screen tap the lock icon in the upper right corner and enter your four digit pin. By locking the screen it prevents others from navigating into other parts of the app but still allows them to find their child's room and name to check-in.

To unlock the screen simply tap the lock icon again and enter your four digit pin.

In addition to locking the brightwheel app itself, you may choose to lock down your entire device so that parents/staff can't leave the check-in screen.

With Android 6.0 and up, there's a feature called “Screen Pinning”.

  • Enable “Ask for PIN before unpinning” in Settings -> Security -> Screen Pinning. If you have a Nexus, feel free to take a look at this help article.
