[For All Staff] Learn how to sign up to use brightwheel as a staff member after being invited to the program

Creating an account with brightwheel as a staff member allows the ability to clock in a timecard, check in students, log activities, and message parents.

Activate a new account

If you received a direct invitation to brightwheel, check your email for activation instructions. If not, follow the steps below to activate your account using the email address your program used to invite you.

Note: You must have been invited by your program before you can sign up.

On the App

  1. Go to the sign up page on the web

  2. Click Don't have an account?

  3. Select the Staff or Teacher option

  4. Enter your email address and password, then hit Join School

  5. Enter the verification code to complete the set up

  3. Click the Teacher / staff option

  4. Enter the verification code, then hit Verify to complete the setup

FAQs

I'm not receiving my 6-digit verification code in my email inbox. What's wrong?

  • Check your spam folder for any messages with a subject of 'brightwheel verification code" with the sender being welcome@mybrightwheel.com

  • Check that the email address you're using to activate your account is the same inbox you're checking for the message in

  • Search your entire inbox for the subject and sender outlined above (especially if you're using filters!)

I’m getting an error message using my 6-digit verification code. What’s wrong?

We know this can be frustrating and there are a few different scenarios that could be causing you to receive an error message. Review the error message provided after inputting your code to determine what the suggested resolution steps are.

The error message "This account cannot be activated" indicates the account has already been set up. To fix this, take steps to sign-in to brightwheel instead of clicking sign-up.
