Troubleshooting

I'm getting a "This account cannot be activated" error.

This usually happens when you click Sign Up instead of Sign In for an account that already exists. Go to the brightwheel sign-in page and log in using your existing email and password. If you don't remember your password, select Forgot password to reset it.

I'm not seeing my program or any students after signing up.

Your program needs to add you as a staff member using the same email address you signed up with before you can see any program data. Reach out to your admin to confirm your email is listed correctly under their Staff & Payroll page.

I haven't received an invitation email.

Check your spam folder for a message from brightwheel. If it's not there and your program already added you, you can still sign up manually at the brightwheel sign-up page using the same email your program has on file for you. When you sign up, be sure to select "Join a School" instead of "Create a New School" to be connected with your current program.

I'm not receiving my verification code.

Check your spam folder for a message with the subject "brightwheel verification code." Make sure the email address you're signing up with matches the inbox you're checking.
