To be considered sustainable, or aligned with the EU Taxonomy, an economic activity must:
Contribute significantly to at least one of the six environmental objectives listed in the Taxonomy
Do no significant harm to any of the other objectives.
In addition, for any activity to be considered aligned, the company must respect a series of human rights, labour, and anti-corruption standards. These are called “Minimum Social Safeguards” in the Taxonomy regulation.
