Static IPs and port forwarding

Right now, Brillband uses CGNAT (Carrier-Grade NAT) on our network. That means:

  • No Static IPs – you get a dynamic address that may change periodically.

  • No Port Forwarding – inbound connections can’t be routed directly to devices on your network.

What’s Coming Next?

Good news! We know many of you need a stable public IP and the ability to forward ports for home servers, security cameras or gaming setups. That’s why we’re hard at work on a feature update to bring back:

  • Dedicated Public IP Addresses

  • Customisable Port Forwarding Rules

Target Launch: Later this year (keep an eye on your inbox for the official rollout date!).

Why the Delay?

Introducing static IPs and port forwarding means upgrading our infrastructure and ensuring rock-solid security for everyone. We’re taking our time to get it right—so when it arrives, it’ll just work.
