Not Playing Ball? Troubleshooting Eero Setup

Our Eero setup is usually a cakewalk, but sometimes hiccups happen. If you’re stuck, try these quick fixes—direct from the Eero Help Centre for the Eero 6+ series:

1. Check That Bluetooth Is On

The Eero app pairs with your router over Bluetooth.

  • iOS: Settings → Bluetooth → On

  • Android: Settings → Connections → Bluetooth → On

2. Use the Router’s Serial Number

If auto-detection fails, tap “Set up using Serial Number” in the app.

  • Find the SN on the sticker under your Eero (it starts with “SN” followed by dashes).

  • Include the dashes exactly as shown.

3. Try a Different Phone or Tablet

Occasionally, device-specific quirks or outdated OS versions can trip up setup.

  • Ensure your device is running the latest iOS or Android update.

  • If issues persist, grab a friend’s device and try again.

4. Power-Cycle Your Eero

A classic “turn it off and on again” often does the trick:

  1. Unplug the Eero’s power cable.

  2. Wait 30 seconds, then plug back in.

  3. Watch the LED pulse white—once it’s solid, reopen the app and resume setup.
