If your Sky Q box is playing hard to get with our Brillband Wi-Fi, a few tweaks can make all the difference. Check out these on-brand tips—and dive into community wisdom via the Sky Community and AVForums links below!
1. Disable Eco Mode
Sky Q’s eco settings can put your box into a light sleep, sometimes too light. Turn it off for a rock-solid connection:
Press Home on your Sky Q remote
Go to Settings → Preferences
Set Standby mode to None
2. Force 5 GHz Only
Sky Q defaults to 2.4 GHz, which can be busy and slow. Lock it onto 5 GHz for higher throughput:
Press Home on your Sky Q remote
Go to Settings (don’t press OK)
Enter 001 on the remote to open the Engineer menu
Select Networks → 2.4 GHz Wireless → Off
Press Back or Home to exit
3. Try a Wired Connection
For the ultimate reliability—especially if you’ve got multiple Sky Q minis—plug an Ethernet cable straight from your Eero into your Sky Q box. No more buffering, no more drop-outs.
