How to configure fee settings

Access and adjust deposit plans, fee pass rules, and client-visible explanations—all from your Fee Settings panel.

Accessing Fee settings

Click your outfitter name in the top left to open Organization settings, then select Fee settings. (On mobile, the outfitter name is in the top right.)

This page controls deposits, fees, and payment setup for your organization.

Deposit Plan

  • On = Deposit plans are active for your invoices.

  • Off = No deposit plans will be applied.
    Most outfitters keep this on.

When enabled:

  • Choose either a deposit percentage (e.g. 25%) or a flat dollar amount (e.g. $250).

  • Choose when the remaining balance is automatically scheduled to charge: days before, on, or days after the trip start or trip end date (e.g. 10 days before trip start, or 3 days after trip end).

Sales Tax Settings

  • On = Sales tax will be collected at the time of booking.

  • Off = Clients will not be charged sales tax.

When enabled:

  • Set a default tax percentage for experiences and add-ons.

Fee Pass Overall Settings

This section controls how client and Stripe fees are applied.

  • Set by Payment Method – allows different pass-through rates per payment type.

If you need this configured, please reach out to the Brindlechute Support Team.

You’ll also see:

  • Default Client Fees – shows base client fees.

  • Default Stripe Fee Pass – percentage of credit card fee passed to the client (most use 100%).

Custom Fee Explanation

This message appears on client invoices to describe your fees.
Examples include:

  • “Covers river permitting and booking service.”

  • “Required operational and processing fees.”

Final Tip
