Manage permits based on their current status

Permits are grouped by agency across Active, Future, and Expired tabs — see usage type, fee model, capacity status, and dates at a glance.

Brindlechute’s Permits area separates your permits into Active, Future, and Expired tabs. Within each tab, permits are grouped by the agency that issued them.

What you’ll see for each permit

  • Name – The permit name plus your own permit ID. If you hold more than one of the same permit, they’re grouped under a single heading with a count badge showing how many.

  • Agency – The issuing agency and the state it applies to.

  • Usage Type – How usage is counted: Per Unit, Per Group, or Per Client.

  • Fee model – How the agency’s fee is calculated for this permit. Some permits use a percentage of your gross revenue amounts, others a flat amount per unit. Permits with no fee show N/A.

  • Usage – Whether the permit carries capacity limits (Limited) or has no cap (Unlimited).

  • Date – The permit’s expiration date and its renewal date.

Active permits

The permits currently in effect — the ones you’re reporting on now.

Future permits

Permits you’ve added that haven’t taken effect yet, typically next season’s once you’ve received them.

Expired permits

Past permits, no longer in use but still available for:

  • Reference – Check details from a previous season

  • Historical Reporting – Generate reports on usage for audits, accounting, or records

Opening a permit

Click any permit to see its full details, edit its permit ID, and set capacity rules for the sections you run.

The About panel also shows the permit’s Matching type — how a trip’s put-in and take-out points are matched to a section of this permit. You may see:

  • Start point only — the trip matches on where it puts in

  • End point only — the trip matches on where it takes out

  • Start AND end points — both must fall on the section

  • Start OR end point — either one is enough

  • Float through — the trip matches if it overlaps the section at all

From here, View Reporting shows how guides are logging usage against that permit — trip clients, put in and take out points, use count, gross revenue, and fees — viewable as yearly or daily usage, and selectable by year.
