How to Override a Deposit on a Booking

Deposit override customizes amounts and due dates while updating reminders so clients only pay on your chosen schedule.

Not every booking follows your default deposit rules. Sometimes you may have a client paying day-of, or an agreed-on deposit that’s smaller (or larger) than usual. The deposit override tool lets you adjust on a case-by-case basis so your client isn’t sent incorrect reminders and your payment schedule reflects the actual agreement.

How to override a deposit

  1. Open the booking.
Create new or edit an existing booking.

  2. Enter or review the booking details.

  3. Scroll down to the Payments Due section.

  4. Click Deposit Override.

  5. Enter the new deposit amount.
    You can choose:

    • $0 if no deposit is required

    • A custom dollar amount

    • A custom percentage

  6. Choose the Final Payment Due Date.
Use the calendar to select the date you want the remaining balance to be due.

  7. Save the booking.
Scroll back up and click the Save button on the top right.

Brindlechute will automatically adjust deposit reminders to match the new custom window you’ve set.

Why Use Deposit Override?

  • A client is paying in full on arrival.

  • You agreed on a custom deposit outside your standard policy.

  • Certain trips may require flexible or adjusted payment schedules.

  • Avoiding unnecessary or incorrect deposit reminders.

The override applies only to the selected booking and does not change your global deposit settings.
