How to Set Up Guide SMS Notifications

Enable guide SMS notifications and manage consent easily—outfitters turn them on, and guides confirm in their app to start receiving texts.

Outfitters must enable SMS notifications before guides can receive trip updates by text through Brindlechute.

Step 1: Outfitter Setup

To turn on guide SMS notifications:

  1. Click your outfitter name in the top left to open Organization settings, then select Notifications.

  2. Open the Guide tab.

  3. Under each notification, find the Send Via dropdown.

  4. Choose SMS, Email, or Email and SMS for each notification you’d like to send.

Once enabled, guides will start receiving SMS messages when new trips are assigned or payments are confirmed—after they’ve subscribed.

Step 2: Guide Consent and Subscription

After the outfitter enables SMS, guides must give permission to receive texts. In the Guide App, the guide:

  1. Taps Me (bottom right).

  2. Taps their name at the top.

  3. Checks SMS Subscription.

  4. Taps Update to save.

This confirms the guide’s consent to receive trip-related texts. They can update or remove consent anytime.

Managing Consent as the Outfitter

Outfitters can also update SMS consent for new or existing guides at any time:

  1. In the left sidebar, under Platform, click Guides.

  2. Click the three dots next to the guide’s name.

  3. Select Edit Guide Info.

  4. Check SMS Subscription and click Update.

This ensures the guide is set up to receive SMS notifications once they’ve been enabled.
