Brindlechute gives you two ways to apply discounts when creating or editing a booking. You can discount a specific experience line item, apply a discount to the entire booking, or do both at the same time.
Per Line Item: Edit Price & Discount
Click on the price of any experience line item in the Itinerary Builder to open the Edit price and discount modal. You'll see two options:
Edit price (Price Override) — Manually set a new price for that line item. Choose between Subtotal or Per person price and enter the amount.
Set discount — Toggle ON to apply a discount to that line item. Choose $ USD for a fixed amount or % Percent for a percentage off. You can also add a note in Notes shared in invoice to let the client know what the discount is for or what was agreed upon.
⚠️ Note: Price overrides are not recorded as discounts and won't show up in discount reports. If you are giving a true discount, always use Set discount — not price override.
Booking-Level: Set Booking Discount or Promo Code
In the Invoice Summary, click Set booking discount or promo code. You'll get three options:
USD — a fixed dollar amount off the total
Percent — a percentage off the total
Promo Code — apply an existing promo code
You can also add a note in Notes in invoice to share context with the client.
Stacking Discounts
Both discount types can be used together on the same booking. For example, you can apply a 5% line item discount on a specific experience and then add a promo code at the booking level — both will apply and the client will see the combined savings on their invoice.
💡 Tip: Stacking discounts is a great way to handle situations where you've already agreed on a per-trip rate with a client but also want to honor a promo code or seasonal offer on top of that.
