How to set up different sales taxes

Create and manage sales tax categories so the correct taxes are automatically added to client invoices.

Sales Tax Settings are found inside Fee Settings and let you apply taxes to experiences, add-ons, or both. You can create multiple tax types, control when they apply, and Brindlechute will show a clear tax breakdown to clients on their invoice.

How to Set Up Sales Taxes:

  1. Open Fee Settings
Click your Outfitter name, then select Fee Settings.

  2. Add a Tax Category
In Sales Tax Settings, click Add Tax Category.

  3. Enter Tax Details

    • Name: What the tax is for (example: Lodging Tax)

    • Rate: Enter the percentage (example: 5%)

    • Applies To: Check Experience Default, Add-On Default, or both

    • Type: Choose All Year or Seasonal

  4. Save and Repeat if Needed
Add as many tax categories as needed for your business.

What Clients See

  • Taxes are automatically added to the invoice

  • Each tax appears as its own line item

  • Clients see a clear breakdown (experience tax, lodging tax, etc.)

Once your sales tax categories are set up, Brindlechute automatically applies them to bookings and shows clients a clear tax breakdown on their invoice. This helps keep pricing transparent and ensures you’re charging the correct taxes every time.
