How to Create a Booking with a Requested Guide

Learn how to create a new booking and mark a guide as requested so your team can clearly see the client’s preferred guide on the calendar and in assignments.

Sometimes a client asks for a specific guide. Brindlechute makes it easy to mark that guide as requested during the booking process. When a guide is requested, you’ll see a clear “R” icon on the calendar and in assignments so your team knows it was client-requested.

How to Create a Booking with a Requested Guide

Step 1: Start a New Booking

  • From your Dashboard, click New Booking.

  • Select or add your Client.

Step 2: Add the Experience

  • Choose the Experience.

  • Enter the number of persons for the trip.

  • Click to select the trip dates.

Step 3: Assign the Requested Guide

  • Click Per-unit details below the experience line to expand the unit breakdown. See Understanding Per-Unit Details When Creating a Booking for the rest of what's in that table.

  • Click that unit's Guides field and select the guide you want to assign.

  • To mark them as requested, check the Requested checkbox on that unit's row.

Step 4: Save the Booking

  • Review the details.

  • Complete the booking as usual.

NOTE: If you try to change a requested guide, a pop-up message will appear asking you to confirm the change. This helps prevent accidental updates.

How Requested Guides Appear

On the Calendar

In the Trip Calendar (Guide View) and Assignment, a requested guide will show an “R” icon. This makes it easy to see that the guide was specifically requested by the client.

If you try to change the guide, it will also trigger a pop-up message asking you to confirm the change, since the guide was marked as requested.

Using the requested guide feature helps your team clearly track client preferences and avoid confusion. The “R” icon ensures everyone knows when a guide was specifically requested before making any changes.
