When a client has paid by card before, that card stays saved in their client profile. If the client agrees to use that same payment method for a new booking, the saved card can be selected again during payment collection. This makes checkout faster and easier for repeat guests.
How to charge a returning client’s saved card
Create a new booking.
Add the returning client to the booking.
Complete the trip details as needed, then save the booking.
Scroll down to Invoice Summary > Payments Due.
Click Collect Payment.
Under Payment Method, select Card or ACH Debit.
If the client has a saved card on file, it will appear here automatically. If more than one card is saved, select the card the client has agreed to use.
Select a Payment plan.
Confirm consent checkbox, then click Confirm and Charge.
Important
Only charge a saved card when the client has agreed to use that same payment method for the booking.
If there is any doubt, it is best to confirm with the client before processing the payment.
Where the saved card comes from
Saved cards are stored in the client’s profile, not inside the booking itself.
To use a saved card during payment collection, first select the client in the Select a client to charge section. If that client has a saved card on file, it will appear there as a payment option. It does not appear as a payment option for the full booking unless a specific client is selected.
The saved card can also be viewed from the client profile.
Good to know
If no saved card appears, the selected client may not have a saved card on file. This can happen if they were not the person who paid for a previous trip, even if they were included on the booking. It can also happen if they previously paid using a different payment method.
If needed, check the client profile to confirm whether a saved payment method is available.
Using a saved card can speed up payment collection for repeat bookings, especially when the client has already agreed to use the same card again. It helps staff process payment more quickly while keeping the booking moving forward.
