Locations in Brindlechute let you define specific points along a river — or any other place relevant to your operations. Assign locations (also called sections) to trips for clear guide direction, and use capacity rules to forecast demand and manage availability across your assignment calendar.
Creating a Location
A Location is the specific place or section where a trip happens.
From your dashboard, navigate to Locations and click +New Location.
Enter a Location Name and Abbreviation.
To track capacity for this location, set your Location Capacity Rules:
Choose a Type (Per Day, Per Month, or Total).
Set a Limit and define the applicable Date Range.
Click +Add a Rule to add more rules as needed.
Click Save.
Example: You might create a location and set a rule for 3 boats per day for the full season. If your availability changes later in the year, you can add another rule with a different date range.
Creating a Location Group
If you have multiple locations for the same river or area, you can group them together for easier management.
From Locations, click +Add Location Group.
Enter a name for the group.
Select the locations to include in the group.
To track capacity at the group level, set your Group Capacity Rules the same way as individual location capacity rules.
Click Save.
Use Locations When Assigning Trips
After your locations and groups are set up, you can use them when scheduling bookings.
When you create or update a booking, assign the correct location to the trip. On the Assignment Calendar, you can click Section to view your locations and see what is already booked.
This helps your team quickly answer questions like:
Do we already have a trip in this section?
Is there still room to add another trip here?
How Capacity Helps Prevent Overbooking
Brindlechute tracks the capacity rules set on each location. If you assign more trips than a location allows, the system uses those rules to flag that the section is full.
That means your team can schedule with more confidence and avoid stacking too many trips into the same area.
