Canceling a Trip
Canceling a booking will automatically cancel any scheduled payment associated with it. When you initiate a cancellation, you'll see a confirmation message noting that the scheduled charge will be canceled. You'll also have the option to enter a refund amount at that time. If no refund is entered, the cancellation still proceeds and the scheduled charge is removed. You can choose whether or not to notify the client of the cancellation.
Once canceled, the booking moves to its own dedicated tab so you retain a record of it.
Issuing a Refund
When you refund a charge against a card, Brindlechute will also cancel any associated scheduled payment. A confirmation message will appear to let you know before you proceed.
Editing Trip Dates
If you change the dates on a booking that has a scheduled payment, you'll need to take action — the scheduled payment won't update automatically. After saving new dates, you'll be presented with three options:
Send Invoice — Cancels the scheduled charge and sends the client a new invoice so they can select the remaining balance option themselves.
Update Scheduled Payment — Updates the scheduled charge to the new date based on your deposit logic, without notifying the client.
Collect Payment — Cancels the scheduled charge and processes the remaining balance immediately.
Important: If you close the date edit screen using the X without selecting one of these options, no changes will be made to the scheduled payment — it will still go out on the original date.
