Sometimes a task on a trip's checklist isn't needed for that particular booking. You can delete individual tasks — both manual and smart tasks — directly from the trip detail view without changing the checklist template on the experience.
Deleting tasks can also help resolve specific issues. An unassigned guide slot can block a booking from closing, pending tasks can clutter the calendar, and a task sometimes can't be completed at all — for example, client tasks belonging to someone who booked a spot but never came on the trip.
How to delete a task
Open the booking from Bookings or by clicking the trip on your Trip Calendar.
If coming from the Trip Calendar, click the trip then select View Trip Detail from the pop-up.
On the right side of the trip detail screen, scroll down to the Checklists section.
Find the task you want to remove.
Click the trash icon on the right side of the task row.
Common Task Issues and Troubleshooting
These tasks commonly stay pending when they no longer apply. Tasks are grouped by stage in the Checklists section, so check each stage for the one you're after, then delete it using the steps above.
"Pay Guides" — when it's tied to an unassigned guide slot, deleting it lets you close out the booking.
"Assign Guides" — when you've decided not to make changes to the booking, deleting it clears it from the calendar.
Client tasks for a no-show — someone who booked a spot but never came can't complete their tasks, so they stay open and keep the trip from moving to completed.
Note: Deleting a task only affects this trip, not the checklist template on the experience, so future trips will still include it. This works for both manual and smart tasks. Removing a task doesn't change the booking status: a trip may still show as unpaid after "Pay Guides" is deleted.
