Know Your Clients at a Glance with Client Tags

Create color-coded tags like VIP or Repeat guest to label your clients — visible to your whole team wherever the client appears, and searchable from the Clients list so you can pull up everyone sharing a tag at once.

Client tags let you label your clients with color-coded badges — like VIP, Repeat guest, or Corporate group — so anyone on your team can identify them at a glance. Once applied, a client's tags appear wherever that client shows up in your Brindlechute dashboard, including when creating a booking. Even if a teammate doesn't know the client personally, the tag gives them the context right away.

Create and apply a tag

  1. Go to Clients and open a client's profile, then click Edit. (You can also add tags while creating a new client.)

  2. Under Tag, click the field to open the tag dropdown.

  3. Select an existing tag, or type a name to create a new one. Short, recognizable names work best — for example, VIP, or Repeat guest.

  4. When creating a tag, pick a color, then click the arrow to save it.

  5. Click Save on the client's info panel.

NOTE: A client can have multiple tags, and the same tag can be applied to as many clients as you like.

Edit or remove a tag

To change a tag's name or color, open the tag dropdown on any client's info panel and click the menu next to the tag. Edits apply everywhere the tag is used — every client with that tag will show the updated name and color.

To remove a tag from a client, open the client's info panel, remove the tag from the Tag field, and save. This only detaches the tag from that client — the tag itself remains available to apply to others.

Where client tags appear

A client's tags display alongside their name throughout your account, including:

  • Client search results when creating a new booking

  • The client's profile

  • Booking popovers on the trip calendar

  • The Clients section of the trip detail screen

  • Booking popovers on the assignment calendar

  • The Tags column of your Clients list

Search your clients by tag

Tags aren't only for recognizing a client at a glance — you can also use them to pull up everyone who shares one.

  1. Go to Clients.

  2. Click the Search client tags dropdown, to the right of the search bar.

  3. Check the tag you want. Use the Search options box at the top of the dropdown to find a tag quickly once you have a long list.

Your client list narrows to the clients carrying that tag. You can check more than one tag at a time, and uncheck a tag to widen the list again.

When you check several tags, the list shows every client who has any of them, not only clients carrying all of them. Checking VIP and Repeat guest together returns your VIP clients plus your repeat guests, so adding a tag widens the list rather than narrowing it.

This pairs well with tags that describe how a client came to you — a referral source, a repeat guest, or the event they booked through — so you can pull that whole group up in one click.

NOTE: Tag search is separate from the main search bar, which looks up individual clients by first name, last name, email address, or phone number.

Client tags are separate from trip unit tags. Tags created for clients only appear on clients, and tags created for trip units only appear on trips.
