Opportunity (ex "pre-listing") transactions

Updated over 2 weeks ago

We've updated our transaction status labels for clarity and consistency. "Pre-Listing" is now "Opportunity," and other statuses have been refined. Learn more about the changes.

BoldTrail BackOffice allows you to be more flexible with incoming offers and transactions. From now on, you can set an opportunity status for your transactions when creating new or editing existing ones. Moreover, the new opportunity status will also appear in the view settings and custom report filters.

Currently, BoldTrail BackOffice transactions can have the following statuses assigned:

  • opportunity

  • pending

  • active

  • closed

  • cancelled

Transaction statuses in BoldTrail BackOffice influence interactions with external services such as MLS searches and DASH. For instance, 'Active' statuses ensure that listings appear in MLS queries, while updating statuses sequentially is crucial for DASH integrations.

How do I set an opportunity transaction status?

To set a transaction status, within the needed transaction, select edit > switch to opportunity.

When creating a new transaction, the opportunity option will appear in the status dropdown:

How do I filter opportunity status in a custom report?

  1. Open a needed report and click Configure at the bottom top

  2. In an opened window, select add filter > Status

  3. Within a new Status filter, select options > opportunities

If you're creating a report, the configuration window above will appear by default.

Opportunity roles and fields

You can also assign a specific transaction role or a field to an opportunity status. For a role, go to Fields > Transaction roles > Add role. Within the window, select required > only when... > transaction status: opportunity.

For a custom field, go to Fields > Transaction fields > Add field. Within the window, select required > when transaction status becomes ... > opportunity.

Troubleshooting Transaction Status Issues

  • Why is a listing missing in MLS searches? Confirm the listing’s status is set to 'active.' Listings marked as ‘closed’ or ‘off-market’ will not appear in results.

  • Why can’t I push a listing to DASH? Verify that the listing is marked as 'active' in the system. If the listing recently transitioned from 'opportunity,' its new status may not yet make it eligible for pushing. Recheck and follow the sequential update process.
