Pre-built segments are automatically created groups based on common client behaviours. They update over time using predefined rules, so clients enter or leave a segment as their activity changes. You'll find them in Marketing > Segments, under the Prebuilt tab.
How they work
Each segment refreshes once a day: a purchase made this morning will appear in the segment by tomorrow.
Clients enter and leave automatically as their activity changes. You don't need to maintain anything.
Pre-built segments are read-only. If you need a different audience, build your own in the Custom tab.
Archived clients are never included.
The segments available
Customers: everyone who has made at least one paid transaction, whether a pass, a subscription, or even a coffee at the front desk. Your widest reach for studio-wide news and announcements.
Active clients: clients who currently have an active pass or subscription. Your most reliable base for retention, upsells, and keeping regulars coming back.
Active trials: clients currently on an active intro offer as part of a trial period who haven't made a second purchase yet. These are your highest-potential leads — convert them before their offer expires.
Open a segment to see who's inside, along with helpful context for each client. For example, Active trials shows each client's pass, expiry date, and how far they've progressed (Purchased, Booked, or Attended) — so you know who to contact first.
Send a campaign to a segment
From any segment, open the Campaigns tab and click Create campaign. Choose your channel — Email, SMS, or Push notification — and your message will target exactly the clients in that segment.
The campaign creation flow is the same as for any other audience. For a full walkthrough, see Send a Newsletter to all customers.
Important notes
Segment membership is calculated daily, so very recent activity may not be reflected yet.
The number of clients who actually receive your campaign can be lower than the segment count. Clients are automatically excluded if they have no valid contact method for the chosen channel (e.g. no email address for an email campaign, no phone number for SMS), if they haven't opted in to marketing communications, or if their email address is invalid or unreachable. The recipient count shown when you create a campaign is an estimate: membership can still change between creation and sending.
