Here are some steps to diagnose why your kiosk screen is black
The most common reason for the screen being black is that a cable (generally the power cable) has accidentally been knocked, turned off or unplugged. It could also potentially be a faulty computer or a faulty screen. The following steps will help diagnose the issue.
1. This is an obvious one, but firstly, check to make sure the kiosk is connected to power and the power point is switched on. Make sure the kiosk is not attached to any timers that turn the power off at specific times (like overnight)
2. Is the kiosk showing up as online on the web portal? If it is showing up on the web portal than it suggests that the kiosk computer is still running but there is a problem with the screen or the connection from the computer to the screen. (If the kiosk is showing up on the web portal then skip to the 'diagnosing the screen' section below
3. If the kiosk isn't showing up in the web portal, check the computer. is there a light on the computer? (Add photo).
4. If there's no light on, check the screen & credit card reader. Are they powered on? If they're not powered on, then there could be a problem with the powerboard that supplies power to all the devices.
5. If they are powered up, then there could be a problem with the computer's power supply or the computer itself.
