Alaska—Tax Registration

Explore essential steps for registering a new business in Alaska, including tax requirements.

Overview: When starting a business in Alaska with employees, you’ll need to register for Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax through the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Unlike most states, Alaska does not have a state income tax, so UI is the primary tax obligation for new employers.
