3D Floor Planner - 2D/3D Floor Plan Design & Visualization Tools

The BuilderBid 3D Floor Planner lets you design interior layouts, generate 3D visualizations, and furnish rooms using both manual tools and AI. You can start from scratch, import a plan, or use templates to speed up your workflow. This guide walks you through viewing modes, controls, room creation, editing, furnishing, and sharing your final design.

Steps

1. Access the 3D Floor Planner

  • Go to your project, then click 3D Floor Planner from the left menu.

2. Choose how you want to build your layout

You can start your design in several ways:

  • Start from Scratch — Manually draw walls and rooms from a blank canvas.

  • Smart Wizard — Instantly furnish a single room using AI.

  • Import a Plan — Upload a floor plan and the system will automatically generate the layout.

    • Best Practice: Upload one page or sheet at a time for the cleanest results.

  • Copy from Project — Clone an existing project layout.

  • Templates — Select from ready-made templates to begin quickly.

3. Switch between 2D & 3D views

  • Use the 2D / 3D toggle located at the top center of the planner.

4. Basic navigation controls

2D & 3D View:

  • Scroll Wheel – Zoom in/out

  • Right Click + Hold – Move the drawing horizontally

3D View Only:

  • Left Click + Hold – Pan around the model

5. Switch floors or add levels

  • Use the top-left buttons to change floors or create additional levels.

6. Add rooms and walls

Option A: Draw walls & rooms manually

  • Go to the left menu

  • Click Rooms

  • Select the first icon (wall tool)

  • Start drawing your walls

Option B: Add a pre-configured room

  • Go to the left menu

  • Click Rooms

  • Choose one of the room shapes to insert

7. Edit room and wall details

  • Adjust wall dimensions: Click the wall → drag to resize.

  • Room-level actions: Select a room to access:

    • Material selections (floors, ceilings, walls)

    • Magic Wand (AI furnishing)

    • Duplicate

    • Delete

8. Add furniture, fixtures, and materials

  • Go to the left menu and click the door, sofa, & tree icons to add:

    • Furniture

    • Appliances

    • Lighting

    • Decor and more

  • Recently used designs: Click the clock icon

  • Favorites: Click the heart icon

9. Modify furniture or fixture properties

After placing an item, you can:

  • Change orientation

  • Update materials

  • Mark as a favorite

  • Drag & drop to reposition

  • Adjust dimensions and angle

10. Share or export your completed design

You can share your final output in multiple formats:

  • Print

  • Share via link

  • Export to CAD

  • Export to PDF
