Before starting your takeoffs, it’s essential to ensure your plan sheets are accurately scaled. Proper scaling allows measurements and quantities to be precise, helping you generate correct estimates. This guide will show you how to set up, calibrate, and verify the scale of your plan sheets in BuilderBid.

Steps to Scale Your Plan Sheets
1. Open the Scale Tool
Click the Scale button in the right-hand menu.
2. If You Know the Scale
Go to Option 1.
Click the dropdown list.
Select the correct scale for your plan sheet.
Click Continue.
Your plan sheet will now be scaled automatically.
3. If the Scale Is Not Listed
Identify a known measurement or dimension on the plan.
Click the Scale button.
Go to Option 2.
Enter the measurement.
Click Continue.
Click on the two endpoints of the dimension on the plan.
BuilderBid will manually calibrate your plan sheet based on this input.
4. Verify the Scale
Click the Other button.
Select Length.
Measure any dimension on the plan to confirm accuracy.
5. Adjust or Correct the Scale
If needed, go back to the Scale button and repeat either Option 1 or Option 2 to adjust.
