Steps
1. Open Your Measurement
Locate the measurement you want to link.
Each measurement will display a Link icon beside it.
2. Link the Measurement to a Budget Line Item
Click the Link icon (chain/link symbol) next to the measurement.
Then click the line item in your budget that you want the measurement to be attached to.
The measurement is now assigned to that specific row.
3. Review Linked Measurements
You can easily confirm which measurements are attached to a line item:
Hover your mouse over any budget row to preview linked measurement areas.
Right-click on the line item to view a list of all measurements currently linked to it.
You’ll see:
The measurement name (in bold)
A breakdown of where that measurement appears across all sheets (e.g., Basement, Main Floor, Upper Level)
Square footage totals from each sheet and a combined total
4. Link New Measurements Created from Scratch
If you draw a new measurement and it appears on the right-side panel (unassigned):
Click the Link icon next to that new measurement.
Click the budget line item you want it connected to.
This is the fastest way to push any new measurement into the budget.
