Step 1: Accessing the Defects Page

To begin, log in to your BuildPass account and navigate to the Defects page.

  • Click on "Defects" on the left hand side menu under the Quality assurance section to access the Defects page.

Step 2: Choosing Report Criteria

Once you're on the defects page, ensure your filters are set to the relevant defects to include specific information in the report.

  • Utilize filters to narrow down the defects based on specific criteria. For example, filter defects assigned to a particular company or those with specific statuses or priority like "In Progress" or "Critical."

Step 3: Applying Filters and Selecting Defects

  • Apply the desired filters to display a list of defects that match your chosen criteria. Review the list of defects presented on the screen.

  • Expand the number of displayed defects if necessary to ensure all relevant defects are visible.

  • Select the defects you want to include in the report. You can choose individual defects or select all defects on the job.

Step 4: Downloading the Report

  • After selecting the defects, locate the "Download PDF" option on the upper right section. Click on it to initiate the report generation process.

  • A PDF report will be generated, summarising all the defects you have selected.

  • Please note that if there are many defects, the report may take some time to load.

Step 5: Reviewing the Generated Report

  • Once the report has finished loading, you can scroll through it to review the defects. The report is organised by location, grouping defects accordingly. For example, defects assigned to "Level 1 Bathroom 1" will be listed first, followed by defects from other areas.

  • Some defects may have a yellow highlight, indicating they are still pending action ("To Do").

  • The report includes defect numbers, identifiers, locations, associated photos, status, and assigned personnel.

  • Images associated with defects are displayed in an expanded view at the end of the report for closer examination.

Generating a defects report in BuildPass is a straightforward process. By accessing the defects page, applying filters, selecting the desired defects, and downloading the PDF report, you can obtain a comprehensive overview of your project's defects.
