Admins can customize the instructions Beacon uses to generate AI summaries, letting you tailor the tone, focus, and style to fit your team.

Generate or regenerate
Click Generate Summary next to a summary section.
Edit and save
Users can manually edit summaries at any time.
Some workflows support highlighting key phrases using double asterisks (example: $559,999) so the design visually emphasizes it.
Click Save to persist edits.
Important: When a summary has been manually updated, it will not be automatically refreshed. A user will need to hit the ‘Generate Summary’ button to grab the most recent data from the Beacon and reset its status.
Report AI Prompts
Report AI Prompts let you customize the instructions Beacon uses to write the summaries in your reports.
Where to find Report AI Prompts
Go to Settings → Report AI Prompts to view and customize the instructions used by Beacon. This is only available to Admin users.
These prompts apply to all Beacons in the account. This means any changes made will affect summaries across the account.
Test your prompts before saving
You can test your instructions against a real Beacon before saving them. This lets you see how your changes affect the report summaries without making any changes to the Beacon itself.
Nothing is saved or changed when you test. When you're happy with the results, save your changes.
When do changes take effect?
Your changes are saved immediately, but they won't change summaries that have already been generated.
To see your updated instructions reflected in a Beacon's summaries, refresh the Beacon after saving your changes.
Important to know
Report AI Prompts apply to all Beacons in your account.
Testing does not save your changes or modify the Beacon.
Saving updates the instructions used for future summary generation.
Refresh a Beacon to generate updated summaries using your new instructions.
Manually edited summaries will not be overwritten unless they are regenerated as part of the refresh.
