What do you mean when it states tips are payable locally?

On tours where ‘tipping made easy’ doesn’t apply, we will advise you closer to your departure about how much you should allow for tipping in the local currency. If you are unsure about who and how much you should tip, we suggest you refer to the tour documentation which includes a suggested tipping list.
