📜What is the EU’s General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)?

Starting December 13, 2024, the European Union (EU) mandated that all product listings for items shipped to or within the EU* and Northern Ireland to include additional product information. This is part of the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) to ensure product safety across the EU.

  • The regulation applies to all products across all sales channels, except those in the Food, Health & Beauty categories.

  • The new requirements affect products shipped to or within the EU and Northern Ireland.

📝What are the new product listing requirements for items shipped to or within the EU and Northern Ireland?

Starting December 13, 2024, all product listings shipped to or within the EU and Northern Ireland must include:

1️⃣ Business and Responsible Person’s Information

  • Name and contact details of the business or the designated responsible person.

  • This satisfies the EU Responsible Person requirement.

2️⃣ Product Information

Each listing must clearly show:

  • Product identification details.

  • Country of origin.

  • Compliance details (CE markings, certifications, etc.).

  • Age restrictions (if applicable).

  • Handling instructions.

  • Any required warnings or hazard information.

3️⃣ Warranty Information

  • Listings must include the standard two-year EU product warranty for all products sold in the EU and Northern Ireland.

📍Where Does This Regulation Apply?

The GPSR applies to all 27 EU member states:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

It also applies to Northern Ireland, even though it is not an EU member state.
