What is Data Sharing:

Data Sharing is a feature that allows you to share a database between Bytespree Teams.

How to use Data Sharing:

Head to Admin --> Data Sharing

You will see three tabs:

  1. Data Sharing

  2. Shared with Me

  3. Requests (with a red tag with a number on it if any exist)

Data Sharing Tab:

The Data Sharing tab displays a list of all databases that exist within the team.

Each database entry includes an icon on the right side of its row, which, when clicked, opens a modal window.

The modal prompts the user to select a target team, and once a team is chosen, allows the user to share or send the selected database to that team.

Shared with me Tab:

The Shared With Me tab displays a list of databases that have been shared with you by other teams.

If a shared database is opted in for daily constituent syncs, that status will be indicated in the list.

Each database entry also includes an icon that allows you to delete the shared database. When clicked, the system will prompt you for confirmation before permanently removing the database from your view.

Requests Tab:

The Requests tab displays a card for each incoming database sharing request.
Each card provides two options for the user:

  • Accept — The database’s credentials will be saved to the current team, and it will appear on the Data Lake page as a shared database.

  • Reject — The request will be removed with no further action taken.
