What is a Storyboard?

Learn what a Storyboard is in ByThen and how scenes and clips work together to build your video.

The Storyboard is where your approved script and key visuals becomes a visual plan. ByThen breaks your script down scene by scene, and each scene is filled with clips that tell the story visually.

Think of it as the blueprint for your video before the full render happens.

Understanding the Storyboard dashboard

Scenes

A Scene corresponds to a section of your script. Each scene has a defined duration that is set based on the narration length you can't change the scene duration at this stage. If you need more time in a scene, you can add more duration later in the Editor.

Clips

Each scene contains one or more clips, the individual images or video segments that play while the narration runs. You can edit, regenerate, or replace clips within each scene.
