If you've already issued Share Certificates / Stock Certificates for your investors outside of Cake, no problem! You can very easily attach these to the relevant investor in your Cake account to ensure you have a tidy record of everything 📚
You'll start by uploading the Share Certificates you have issued outside of Cake into the Documents tab.
Head to Documents from the main menu
Select All documents from the dropdown menu
You will see a folder labelled 'Share Certificates' already ready to go for you by default
Click Upload in the top right corner. You'll be prompted to either drag and drop, Browse files or Browse folders. If you have an existing folder structure for your certificates you want to copy over into Cake, choose the Browse folders option!
Once you have uploaded the certificates, the next step will be to Share them with each investor. Don't worry, it won't send them any email notifications that you're doing this! It'll just link the certificate to their profile 😮💨
On each Share Certificate, click More
Select Share from the dropdown menu
Search for the relevant shareholder in the 'Search for a Shareholder' field and click Add to share.
