Editing the name, number of options, exercise price of an existing option pool

The most common reason we see the need for editing the details of an option pool is to update the number of options in the pool - for example, a top up has been approved.

If the option pool has no offers (or only draft offers), all of the pool details are editable including the name, number of options, option price, exercise price and share class.

Once offers have been sent for signing or granted through Cake, only the name of the pool and number of options are editable fields.

The option price and exercise price can also be updated at an individual offer letter so the overall option price and exercise price for the pool are only set initially as the default price for the pool but can be overridden later!

Editing the Pool Name & Number of Options

  1. From the main menu, select 'Equity Plans';

  2. From the dropdown, select 'Options';

  3. Click 'View pool' on the pool you need to make changes to; and

  4. Click 'Edit' in the top right corner and update to the relevant details.

Editing the Option Price, Exercise Price and Share Class

  1. Follow step 1-3 above;

  2. Scroll down to where 'Countries' are listed and click on 'View details' on your relevant country; and

  3. Click 'Edit' in the top right corner and update to the relevant details for the option pool group.

Note: lapsed options are not currently able to be transferred to a different pool of options. Send us a message on our online chat if you are being blocked from updating the number of options in the pool and we can take a look at what might be causing this!
