If you’re using other booking platforms or a channel manager alongside Campanyon, it’s important to keep your availability up to date across all platforms to avoid double bookings. Campanyon supports iCal format synchronization, making it easy to automatically sync your calendar with external systems.

What is iCal?

iCal is a standard calendar format used to share availability information between platforms. By linking your calendars using iCal, availability and bookings are updated automatically across systems—saving you time and reducing the risk of overbooking.

When Should I Use iCal?

You should use iCal sync if:

  • You are listing the same accommodation on multiple platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com, or a personal website)

  • You’re managing your property through a channel manager

  • You want to avoid manual calendar updates and reduce the risk of double bookings

How to Set Up iCal Synchronization

Follow these steps to set up iCal sync between Campanyon and your external platform or channel manager:

1. Import External Calendar to Campanyon

  • Copy the iCal link (URL) from your external platform

  • Go to your Campanyon Host Dashboard

  • Find the listing you want to sync

  • Click on the 'Calendar' button below the listing name

  • Click on the green button "Add new external calendar"

2. Export and Import iCal links

  • In the same listing on Campanyon, locate your Campanyon iCal export link

  • Copy this link

  • Go to your external platform or channel manager and paste it where they allow import of external iCal feeds

  • Do the exact same thing again - just the opposite way - and copy the export iCal link from the external platform or channel manager, and lastly paste it in the import iCal box.

3. Verify Sync Status

  • Once both links are connected, Campanyon will start syncing availability automatically

  • When everything is properly set up, a green "CONNECTED" symbol will appear next to the calendar settings in your dashboard

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Sync frequency can vary depending on the platform; some update every few hours

  • Always double-check availability if you make last-minute changes

  • You can remove or update iCal links at any time from your Campanyon listing
