DAC7 β why does Campanyon collect information?
As a result of the EU Directive DAC7 (Directive on Administrative Cooperation, EU Directive 2021/514), digital platforms such as Campanyon are required to collect, verify, and report certain information about providers who earn income through the platform.
What is DAC7?
DAC7 is an EU directive aimed at increasing transparency and ensuring the correct taxation of income earned via digital platforms. The rules apply to platforms that facilitate the rental of immovable property, personal services, and the sale of goods β including the rental of accommodation.
The directive has been implemented into Danish law and is administered by the tax authorities.
Why is Campanyon covered?
Campanyon facilitates the rental of accommodation (e.g. glamping sites, cabins, shelters, and camping areas). Therefore, under applicable legislation, we are required to:
Collect specific identity and tax information from hosts
Verify the information
Report relevant income information to the tax authorities
This applies whether you rent out as a private individual or as a business.
What information may we be required to collect?
Depending on whether you are a private individual or a business, we may request:
For private individuals:
Full name
Address
Date of birth
Tax identification number (e.g. CPR number or TIN)
For businesses:
Company name
Address
CVR number / TIN
Country of registration
We only collect the information that we are legally required to obtain.
What does this mean for you as a host?
If you are a host on Campanyon and receive income via the platform, we may contact you to request additional information in order to comply with the DAC7 rules, as this is a legal requirement.
