Who Can Sign Up a Facebook Page?
To sign up a Facebook page to the portal, the user must be:
✔ An Admin of the Facebook Business Manager that owns the Facebook Page
This is required so the portal can receive the correct permissions from Facebook and link the Facebook page securely. Only Business Manager admins can approve these permissions during the sign up process.
Who Can Access the Portal After Signup?
Once a venue has been successfully onboarded by a Business Manager admin, access becomes flexible.
Any user who meets both of the following criteria can log in and use the portal:
They have the Facebook page's login details for the portal, and
They have “Advertising access” to the Facebook Page in Facebook Business Manager
If both requirements are met, the user will see the business's page in the portal and can manage advertising on its behalf.
Can External Marketing Agencies Use the Portal?
Yes.
If a venue works with a marketing agency, the agency can fully use the portal as long as:
The agency user has been granted advertising access to the business's Facebook Page in Business Manager
The agency user has the portal login details provided by the venue
Once these conditions are met, the agency will be able to log in and manage campaigns the same way the venue can.
What Happens After the Venue Is Fully Onboarded?
After onboarding is complete:
Any individual with advertising access to the Facebook Page will be able to log into Star Social and see the venue.
This includes:
Staff members
External agencies
Marketing consultants
New team members who are granted advertising access
If their Facebook permissions include advertising rights and they have the business's portal login credentials, they can use the platform immediately.
Why This Access Structure Exists
Our access system ensures that use of the portal is:
Secure
Only users with official Facebook Page permissions can make changes.
Flexible
Venues can work with agencies or multiple team members without additional setup.
Scalable
Large teams can manage multiple venues using their existing Facebook Business Manager structure.
