Organize Files in Camphouse with Tags, Virtual Folders, and Bookmarked Views

Camphouse's files feature enables you to structure your file library using tags, which create virtual folders, and date ranges to help you locate time-specific files. You can also save frequently used configurations with bookmarked views for quicker access.

Step 1: Enable Tag Categories for File Organization

Before you can start organizing files into folders, you need to define which tag categories are available for structuring. This step allows admins to control which tags teams can use, ensuring consistency and helping everyone find what they need faster.

Follow these steps to define your available tags:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Go to Settings > File Fields.

  2. Select Tag Categories: Locate the tag categories you want to include. Use the search bar at the top or scroll through the list to find them.

  3. Enable Tag Categories: Click the plus (+) next to each desired tag category. Selected tags will appear in the list to the right.

ℹ️ If you can't find a tag category that fits your needs, head over to the Tags section and create a new category. Once it's created, it will automatically appear in the file fields list when configuring your file structure.

Step 2: Categorize Your Files with Tags and Dates

Once tag categories are enabled, you can start tagging your files and applying date ranges. Tags can be used to define the folder structure, and date ranges make it easy to find time-sensitive assets like seasonal content or campaign deliverables.

⚠️ Note: The date range filter is not linked to media inventory. It only affects how files are displayed in your view.

Follow these steps to tag your files:

  1. Access the Files Section: Navigate to the files section in your Camphouse dashboard.

  2. Edit File Details for existing files: Click on a file to open its details in the sidebar. Then, click the pen icon at the top to edit.

  3. Update File Information:

    1. Name: Update the file name (required).

    2. External Link: Add or change the link to an external source.

    3. Description: Edit the file description.

    4. Date Range: Define or update the relevant date range.

    5. Tags: Apply tags from the enabled categories (e.g., Campaign: Summer Launch).

  4. Upload New Files:

    1. Simply drag-and-drop your files or click + Add files to upload new files.

    2. Once uploaded, go to the X files uploaded section to review and edit them.

  5. Delete files: Click the trash icon to delete a file if needed (note: deleting a file is irreversible).

📝 Adding tags ensures your files appear in the correct virtual folder structure, improving organization and discoverability. Date ranges are especially helpful for locating assets tied to specific timeframes.

Step 3: Create and Bookmark Custom Views

After you've structured your files, you can create custom views that display your files in virtual folders based on tags and date ranges. By bookmarking these views, you make it easy for yourself and your team to return to a familiar layout—tailored to your workflow. This streamlines collaboration, reinforces consistency, and helps everyone find what they need faster.

Follow these steps to create and bookmark view settings:

  1. Access View Settings: Click on the cogwheel icon in the files view toolbar.
Customize Your View: Choose a predefined setup (if available), or select “Modify settings” to customize your own.

    1. Under Hierarchy, choose the tag categories you'd like to structure your folder view by.

    2. Select your Table Fields to display alongside your files for quick context.

  2. Save and Name Your Bookmark:

    1. Click Save at the bottom to store your configuration.

    2. Name your bookmark. If you're an admin, you’ll also have the option to make the bookmark available to all users in your organization.

📌 You can access this view anytime from the Bookmarks menu. Edit or delete bookmarks at any time as your needs evolve.

Download a file

You can easily download files from Camphouse. Just click on the file to open the menu on the right. Above the image preview, you'll see a download icon — click it to save the file to your computer.

Conversations

Every file has its own conversation section. To access it, find and click on the file. A menu will appear on the right showing file details. Next to “Details,” click on “Conversations.” This is where you can leave comments, share information, or collaborate directly with your team.

To notify a teammate, simply type “@” followed by their name, then select them from the list.

Pro Tips

  • Combine date ranges with tags to filter more precisely.

  • Set up team-specific bookmarks for easy access to relevant views.

  • Review and clean up unused tags and folders periodically to maintain clarity.
