Understanding Discussion Boards: A Guide for Parents & Families

To help you get started, here’s a quick guide with everything you need to know about navigating Discussion Boards!

Updated this week

Accessing the Discussion Board

To access the discussion anytime, click on the “chat” icon in the top navigation bar in the portal 💬. This will take you to a feed with all Boards you’re a part of. If you are a member of multiple Boards, you can click on the name of a specific Board to view content specifically for that Discussion Board. You can also sort your feed by what’s “hot” or by “most recent”!

Creating a post

You can ask a question, post a thought, or share advice using the “Create a post” button!

You’ll be asked to select which Board to post in, and optionally, add an image. We’ll automatically subscribe you to receive email notifications when there’s activity on your post.

💡 Pro Tip: Upload an image to boost visibility on your post!

Subscribing to a post

If you see a post that you’re interested in, and want to get notified about new comments, click on the “down arrow” button at the top right of the post. You’ll see an option to subscribe or unsubscribe to notifications.

Reporting concerning discussion content

If you see a post with concerning or inappropriate content, please report it! To do so, click on the “down arrow” at the top of the post or comment, and select “Report post/comment.”

That’s it! Thanks for reading and happy discussing! ✌️
