In the top right corner, click Sign Up/Log In
Select I work at a college as your user type
Link your account to your school in the last step (type in the name of your school into the field)
Contact success@campusreel.org to request admin privileges.
1.) Create a New User in Slate
To create a new user, go to the Manage Database section of Slate, and scroll down to "Users & Access". Select "User Permissions". If you are logged in to Slate, you should be able to click here to access User Permissions directly.
Click "New User" and add the below information into their respective fields:
First Name: CampusReel
Last Name: Leads
Email: success@campusreel.org
Set user type to "Service Account"
User ID: CampusReel
Provide a password
Make sure to check the box for "Enable account for access."
Click Save
You will now see a new user in your User Permissions folder.
2.) Set up Fields
You likely already have many of your own fields configured. If CampusReel collects a field that you do not already have an ID for in Slate, then create a "New Field" for each of the fields you intend to use. Select "Free Text" as the field type for new fields.
3.) Creating a New Source Format & Mapping
If you are logged in to Slate, you can access source formats here. Click "New Source Format". Set the below attributes/fields for the new source format:
Name: CampusReel
Format: JSON
Type: Cumulative / Replaceable
Remap As Of Date: Any date in the past (e.g. 2022-01-01)
Remap Active: Active
Next, with the same popup still opened, click the "Format Definition" tab. In a new browser tab or window, and open up your CampusReel Admin Panel. Go to the "Leads" menu option, and hover over the "Export" button. Click "Slate Settings".
Click the "Copy the Format Definition to the Clipboard" button, and paste into the XML field of the Format Definition window. Click "Save".
After the format has been saved, make sure to click the "Remap" button. Then, connect each field with CampusReel fields.
For each field from CampusReel, map it to the correct Destination from Slate.
3.) Web Services POST URL & Slate Settings
After mapping and saving your New Source Format, go back to view all Source Formats. Select the CampusReel Source Format that you just created and mapped. Once selected, click the "View" link in the Web Services line.
"View" will pop open a window with a Standard link. Copy the link, go back to your CampusReel Admin Panel, open "Slate Settings" again, and paste the URL in the URL field. Also add the username and password for the CampusReel user you provided. Then, click "Save" and "Export to Slate".
Make sure to check the box for "Automatic export every day"! If you do not check this box, you will need to log back in to CampusReel and click the "Export" button every time you want to send leads to Slate.
4.) Add CampusReel to Origin Source
To ensure you are properly attributing leads to CampusReel, add CampusReel as a new origin source. If you are logged in to Slate, you access Origin Sources here. Click "Insert", and select "Source Format" for the Source Type. Then, click into Source options and select your CampusReel source format. Assign Export Value, Category, and Score.
