To apply for funding through the NextGen Food Innovators program, your project must meet all of the following conditions:
Scope
Focus on post-farmgate food sectors:
Food processing
Distribution
Food service
Grocery retail
Not Eligible
Projects primarily focused on agriculture or farmers
Innovation Requirements
Develop and validate new intellectual property
Include a clear commercial goal or outcome
Technology Requirements
Operate at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 1 to 7
TRL 8–9 allowed only if combined with TRL 1–7 work
