What is the difference between the Spark and Impact funding streams in the True North Sustainable Food Fund?

The True North Sustainable Food Fund program has two funding streams:

Spark Stream

The Spark stream is designed for smaller, faster projects.

Key details:

  • Funding amount: Up to $100,000

  • Application type: Single-stage application

  • Project duration: Up to 12 months

  • Review timeline: Approximately 60 days after intake close

Spark is intended for applicants with focused scopes of work who are ready to move quickly.

Impact Stream

The Impact stream is designed for larger and more complex demonstrations.

Key details:

  • Funding amount: $250,000 to $1,000,000

  • Application type: Two-stage process

  • Expression of Interest (EOI)

  • Full Application

  • EOI review timeline: 30–45 days

  • Full application review timeline: 4–6 weeks

Impact is intended for large industrial demonstration projects.
