The YODL Code of Conduct defines the rules you must follow when participating in the community. It ensures a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all members.

What rules must you follow?

Be respectful

  • Focus on ideas, not people

  • Do not insult, attack, or dismiss others

  • Assume good intent, especially with new members

  • There are no “stupid” questions

Keep discussions constructive

  • Share insights, questions, and feedback

  • Encourage conversation, not conflict

  • Allow others to express their views

Use YODL for its intended purpose

  • Share:

  • Experiences

  • Challenges

  • Knowledge

  • Goals

  • Do not promote your products or services

Do not post illegal or harmful content

  • Do not post or promote:

  • Illegal activities

  • Misuse of drugs or alcohol

  • Harassment, discrimination, or retaliation

  • Follow all applicable laws (provincial and federal)

No sales or promotions

  • Do not post advertisements or sales content

  • Keep discussions non-commercial

Be careful when discussing products

  • Your posts are publicly visible

  • You are responsible for what you write

  • Avoid statements that could violate:

  • Libel laws

  • Slander laws

  • Antitrust laws

Respect intellectual property

  • Only share content that you:

  • Created yourself, or

  • Have permission to use

  • Always credit the original creator

Keep it professional

  • Stay focused on food innovation topics

  • Do not engage in political debates

Prohibited content

Do not post content that is:

  • Defamatory

  • Abusive

  • Profane

  • Threatening

  • Offensive

  • Hateful or discriminatory

  • Illegal

Only post content you are comfortable sharing publicly.
