A great first message can be as simple as a quick intro, why the role caught your eye? or a question about the role or team - for example:
‘Hey! This role looks really interesting, I’d love to know a bit more about what a typical day looks like?’
Keep it natural, keep it simple and treat it like a conversation rather than an application.
