A workspace is a secure environment for where internal and external stakeholders can communicate, share information, work together and collaborate. A workspace houses a collection of tools (also known as 'modules') available in Capcade, which include:

Create a workspace

Create a new workspace with pre-configured templates, made available to your entity, with defined combination of tools to meet specific use cases.

  1. Navigate to the Workspace section in Capcade by clicking on the "Workspace" button in the main navigation

  2. Click "Create"

  3. Choose from a pre-configured template for which modules you want to add to the workspace

  4. Give the workspace a name and description

  5. Set the admins for this workspace

    • Workspace admins will be assigned manage permissions to all modules and will have access to members

    • If this is left blank, the user creating will be an admin by default

  6. Add any tags relevant to this workspace

  7. Click "Next"

  8. You can also rename modules as you create your workspace

You can also clone an existing workspace to use the structure as a template for a new workspace. This includes content, participants and permissions.

Workspace templates

The templates are curated in collaboration with your Capcade account representative, and are tailored specifically to your company's needs and use-case.

If you or your team would like custom workspace templates, please contact us. For example, you can have a workspace template that has a data room, smart document and task list. Another workspace template could have a transaction, data room and two smart documents.

Workspace settings

Configure the workspace settings in the "Settings" tab of the top navigation pane of the workspace.

Here, you can:

  • Add any additional information fields to the workspace

  • Add a customized logo to the workspace, by clicking the pencil icon on the image next to the workspace name, to give more context to participants

  • Convert the workspace to a restricted access workspace

  • Add an important notice to the workspace (e.g. a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), or Ts and Cs etc.)

  • Generate a report on the workspace engagement

  • Edit the modules in the workspace

Editing modules within the workspace

If you would like to edit, remove or reorder modules within the workspace at a later stage, this can be done by:

  1. Visit the relevant workspace

  2. Click the "Settings" tab within the workspace

  3. Scroll down to the "Modules" section

  4. To reorder the modules, click on the six dots and drag the module into the appropriate position

  5. To rename the modules, click on the relevant module to open additional information about the module, and then click into the name of the module
