Tasks Preview in Canvas

Create previews of individual tasks or filterable lists of tasks on your canvas

Task preview widget in canvases

Task integration with canvas allows users to add individual tasks and lists of tasks to a canvas module to share snippets of task information with users of the canvas.

Adding a "Task preview" tasks widget

  1. Visit the relevant workspace that has a canvas module, or add a canvas module

  2. Toggle the "Edit layout" button to the on position

  3. Click "Tasks" from the available widget options, and select "Task preview" from the drop down menu

  4. You can also click the pencil icon to edit an existing tasks widget

  5. Click the "Add content" button to add a new task

  6. Select the task you would like to preview

  7. Click "Save"


Adding a "List of tasks" task widget

  1. Visit the relevant workspace that has a canvas module, or add a canvas module

  2. Toggle the "Edit layout" button to the on position

  3. Click "Tasks" from the available widget options, and select "List of tasks" from the drop down menu

  4. You can also click the pencil icon to edit an existing tasks widget

  5. Click the "Add content" button to add a new list

  6. Filter the list for a specific set of tasks

  7. Click "Save"

From here, you can also change the display options for tasks list preview widget by clicking "View as" in the top right corner of the task list widget, to view it as a:

  • Table (list)

  • Chart

  • List of entities

  • List of users

The screenshot below shows an example of how these four display options are rendered on your a:


Tasks, like all widgets in the canvas, can be resized by clicking the lower right hand of the widget and dragging to your desired size. You can also change the title of the widget to any custom text by clicking on the headline.
