What to Do If You Missed Your Check-In Window

What does it mean to miss your check-in window?

Your Carbon check-in window runs for 14 days from your last check-in. If day 15 passes without a completed check-in, Carbon is unable to make target adjustments for that period. Why checking in still matters, even if you are past your window

Missing your window does not mean the week is lost. Completing your check-in as soon as possible, even past day 15, keeps your data moving forward and gives Carbon what it needs to make accurate adjustments at your next opportunity.

Every day you log and every check-in you complete builds a clearer picture of how your body is responding. Carbon gets smarter the more consistently you use it. One missed window does not undo that. Getting back in the habit as quickly as possible is what counts.

How to complete your check-in after missing your window

  • Go to the Coach tab and tap Check-In

  • Log your current weight and body fat (optional) when prompted

  • Complete the rest of your check-in as normal

Carbon will record your data. Keep in mind that if you are past day 15, no target adjustments will be made for the missed period. Your progress will be reviewed and any target updates will occur at your next on-time check-in.

Keep logging even when life gets in the way

Consistent food logging is one of the most powerful habits you can build on Carbon, even in weeks where your check-in is late or missed. Research consistently shows that people who track their food regularly lose more weight and maintain it longer than those who do not.

A missed check-in is a bump in the road, not a reason to stop logging. Stay in the app, keep hitting your targets, and complete your check-in as soon as you can. The habit is the foundation everything else is built on.

Will Carbon still adjust my targets if I check in after day 15? No. Target adjustments require a check-in within the 14-day window. Past day 15, Carbon records your data but holds your current targets in place until your next on-time check-in.

Should I still check in even if I am past my window? Yes. Completing your check-in keeps your data current and your habit intact. Even without a target adjustment, the data you log informs Carbon's next adjustment and keeps your coaching on track.

How do I stop missing my check-in window? Changing your check-in day to one that consistently fits your schedule is the most reliable fix. You can do this via Settings > Coach Settings > Change Check-In Day. You can also check in up to two days early if you know your scheduled day will not work. Learn more about early check-ins.
