Here is a quick guide on ensuring that you properly set continuing care for patients in Dentrix.

The Continuing Care settings will ensure that Donna sends out recalls to patients at intervals both before and after the Continuing Care next recommended appointment date.

1. Click on ‘Family File’ near the bottom left of the Dentrix window

2. Click the ‘Select Patient/New Family’ from the top menu

3. Find the patient or create a new patient. Once the patient is found or created click on the Cont. Care section.

4. In the Continuing Care windows, select the type and click set. The window that will appear will default to the settings for the type in the "Continuing Care Setup" of the Practice Manager. You can either change the date or click OK. Repeat this step for each type to be considered for Continuing Care. Once you are done then click Close.

5. The "Due Dates" for the Continuing Care will now show in the patient file window

As part of the initial setup, CareCru has already set up which Continuing Care types will signify “hygiene” and which will signify “recall" exams. A date for a PROPHY for instance will usually set the “Due for Recall Exam” date. Whereas the date for PERIO or HYGIENE, will set the “Due for Hygiene” date. If you’d like to see the exact list of types that CareCru has mapped to Hygiene or Recall, simply reach out to our Customer Success team and they can provide it to you.
