Here is a quick guide on ensuring that you properly set continuing care for patients in Tracker.

The Continuing Care settings will ensure that Donna sends out recalls to patients at intervals both before and after the Continuing Care next recommended appointment date. In order for Donna to accurately calculate Due for Hygiene and Due for Recall Exam dates for your practice using Tracker, it is important you follow this article.

A future scheduled pending appointment for hygiene can resemble a patient being Due for Hygiene on that scheduled date, or Due for Recall Exam on that scheduled date. It all depends on the procedure code that is assigned to that Reason in Tracker's Reasons Settings. To find the Reasons settings, click on Configuration > Reasons.

Now that you see your list of Reasons, you must expand the Reason to insert the Code that applies. The Code doesn't have to be perfect for every situation, for instance a "3M Perio" Reason would just need a code for scaling. A "6M Rc" would need the code for a recall exam. It just signifies what you "should" be delivering in that appointment.

A pending appointment in the future with a Reason that maps to a recall exam code would cause that patient to have a "Due for Recall Exam" date that is the same as the date of the pending appointment.

A pending appointment in the future with a Reason that maps to a hygiene code (ie. scaling codes) would cause that patient to have a "Due for Hygiene" date that is the same as the date of the pending appointment.
